It’s hard to imagine that what you thought was a ‘friend’ your whole life is really a ‘foe’. Why is it a foe? Well for those that struggle with a sugar addiction, sugar really causes a lot of problems in their life.
Sugar has been presented to us by advertisers to be such an innocent food to enjoy at celebrations and holidays but the over consumption of it is quickly destroying the health of this country. And it’s not that donut here or there, it’s the fact that the average American consumes 155 lbs of sugar EVERY YEAR!
Many who study the effects of sugar on the body, call it toxic and poisonous and they also call it ‘Skeleton Powder’ because it leaches calcium out of the bones and makes them brittle, contributing to osteoporosis. I know it may seem extreme to call sugar toxic and poisonous but when you look up the definition of the word poison, it doesn’t seem extreme at all:
Poison: a substance with an inherent property that tends to destroy life or impair health.
“Sugar has been PROVEN to destroy life and impair health. Anyone that eats too much sugar knows this all too well from not feeling well, having low energy, mood swings, hot flashes, restless sleep, migraines, anxiety, depression, mental fogginess, feeling out of control, horrible teeth and gums, aches and pains in the joints….just to name a few.”
She told me about how these are really just the symptoms that people will typically feel when they consume too much sugar. These are all red flags that your body is trying to tell you something is wrong. When these red flags get ignored they can turn into full blown health conditions like heart disease, cancer, diabetes, arthritis and osteoporosis.
These are the main diseases in America and around the world, in countries who consume a lot of sugar and white processed flour. Countries that do not consume these foods, these diseases are virtually unheard of in their culture. 1 out of 2 people in America DIE of heart disease! 1 out of 3 DIE of cancer!
Unfortunately it has been known for many years that cancer feeds off sugar and gets stronger. The other concern is that sugar highly suppresses your immune system which means you can get sick easier and have a harder time fighting off a current disease that you may have.
The other concern about excess sugar is that it increases chronic inflammation dramatically in the body. And most health professionals believe that excess inflammation is a root to practically every major disease the human body deals with.
The goal is to really understand what sugar is and what is doing to our bodies. And if we don’t do something about it, how is it going to affect you 10 to 30 years down the road? It would also be important to really ask yourself if you have a sugar addiction or not and if you do, how long are you willing to struggle with it for?
This is why the Advocare 24 day challenge helps with this addiction. Once you cleanse those things out of your body (if you are properly doing the cleanse) then your body no longer craves them. Go to www.advocare.com/10109110. I will help you, but you have to have both feet in!
Blessings

A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants. She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. (Proverbs 31:10-17, NIV)
This excerpt from proverbs really sets the bar pretty high for us women who seek to be all we can be, but I view it as a standard. This is the woman whom I most want to be like, because it is pleasing to God. I used to be a person who tried to please people, and that leads down a road of turmoil and trouble. Now that I have a close personal relationship with Jesus, I know that I only need to focus on pleasing him, and all pieces will fall into place.
My mission here on earth is to help woman who don’t focus on self care, and then have to rely on healthcare. I don’t watch the news, but from what I hear, our healthcare is in pretty bad shape.
If we focus on self-care, then our bodies will remain strong and healthy and vigorous, like the proverbs 31 woman.
Interestingly, the word vigorous is used to describe the Hebrew women enslaved in Egypt before the time of Moses. The midwives in Egypt were told to kill the male Hebrew babies as a method of population control, but the midwives feared God and told Pharoah that the women were “vigorous” and gave birth before they could arrive and obey his edict. That’s a powerful image! The Proverbs 31 woman is also strong – solid, not easily broken or injured. She takes care of herself so that she can take care of her family.
Self-care is so essential, and so hard to remember. In the press of school drop offs, healthy cooking,
laundry, after school (fitness!) activities, and social opportunities that we seek for our children there has to be time to take care of us, too. I preach and stand firm on, if you are not 1st place on your to-do list, that is not honoring God. When you get on an airplane, do they say “first secure your neighbors mask and then your own? NO!! “Secure your own mask before assisting others!” Stop making excuses, do you realize your children see and soak up every attitude and habit you have? Bad habit or good habit. So, if your children see you drinking alcohol everyday after work, to “wind down” they will follow suit, vs. they see you exercising to “wind down” …again, they will follow suit. Be the example! You are not raising children, you are rearing future adults. Take care of YOU first, so that you will be able to take care of your family!
So, note to self and to you as well. The Proverbs 31 lady was certainly busy, but amid all of her work she made sure that she was in good shape, too. Permission granted – take care of yourself!

Good morning Friends!
I hope everyone has survived the holidays and are well on their way to their new years decisions! My goal and mission as a coach/trainer, is to help you find fun ways to do that. The number one way to lose inches and fat, is simply utilizing your metabolism. But, first you must re-train! You must stop listening to your “overweight” friends who tell you that it is harder to lose weight once you hit a certain age. Also consider the source. Like in the direct selling world, if your broke uncle Bob is telling you that “it’s a pyramid, you won’t make any money” again,,,,consider the source. So, in an effort to stop the insanity, which is by Einstein’s definition, “doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.” Do something different. Join a professional program, where their are professionals helping you. Sometimes it takes some serious research. The people who know me, know that I am a straight forward, honest person. I am going to give it to you straight, as it is imperative to your success. So let me do that now! In terms of researching gyms. Most gyms will lure you in with a special 16 week program that promises 1:1 attention if you join. Then you get there, and after week 1, they never seem to be available. By the way, most of those people who are assisting aren’t even trainers or coaches, or nutritionist. They are not experts, they did NOT study nutrition or muscles or even know what alkalize means. Which by the way, is very, very important to fat burning! So, in the effort to be consistent with who I am, let me give it to you straight. SUCCESS LEAVES CLUES……so if you want to be successful in your journey, find someone who is having success. This will lead you to my website www.faithdrivenfitness.biz, the testimonials and before’s and after’s is only a small portion of the people we have helped get and stay on track and help them with a “lifestyle change”. We have so many more right now even, who have changed so much, but have insisted that they will not take a picture until they reach 100 lbs……! which is very close, by the way! We have different training options available. The favorite is the buddy package, which is 2-3 people training together, this cuts the cost of personal training, literally in half. 1:1 is available, and myself as well as my trainers, Tammy and Rhonda are currently taking on new clients. Our group program is very popular, check website for times and days!
Below is an article on how to lose a pound of body fat in the next 7 days. Enjoy, and come see the Miami Valley’s solution to fitness! Faith Driven Fitness 9030 Looney rd, Piqua ohio.

Theres nothing more “non-functional” than excess bodyfat.
Why?
Because it’s non-contractile, it’s unsightly, and, quite literally,
it’s just dead weight. Yes, it’s true that you don’t have to be
rail thin, but there’s no question that the old saying that
“your waistline is your lifeline” always holds pretty true.
Now, if today is the day that you are going to choose to
do something about this, let me tell you something very
interesting.
To lose a pound of bodyfat, you’ll have to burn off 3500
calories per week, thats 500 per day which equal to a
couple candy bars.
Now, here’s where it gets interesting…
Theres’ a formula contained in the small booklet which
comes with our jump ropes which provides an easy
method for calculating calories burned per jump rope session.
Using this formula, you can actually determine how many
jumps per day, you would need to burn those 500 calories.
So, for example, if you weight 185 pounds and want to lose
one pound of bodyfat this week, you need to perform 1779
jumps per day.
How cool is that – a concrete, measurable goal. – Either
do it or don’t do it. And, in case you’re wondering, jumping
at a very easy pace, you should be able to get easily get 100
jumps per minute (again, that’s without pushing it)
Which means it wont take but a few minutes to get your
jumps in for the day…
Also keep in mind that the number actually goes down
substantially the heavier you are, for example, a 250 pound
person only needs around 1300 jumps per day to burn 500
calories.
In any case, you can check your particular weight coefficient
in the booklet on page 26 in order to find your “magic” number.
So, if youve been waiting… hesitating… deliberating… about
finally getting in shape, well, its been long enough. Now you
Know exactly what you need to do.

Why personal training? Have you thought about what your New Years Decision would be for 2012? Is it something to do with your health and fitness? Take a step back a minute and take a look at previous years resolutions? Were they the same as this years? What did you do differently, than what you plan on doing this year? Were you successful in your goal? If you have made a decision to get your health and fitness in check, and plan on going it alone…..AGAIN,Here is what I have to say, if you want a different result, you have to do something different. Think about your teeth, when you have problems with your teeth, do you give yourself a cleaning and check up and possibly fill your own cavities? No, you go to a professional, a Dentist. How is your health and fitness any different. If you really want a change this year and you really want results, you need me! You need a professional, someone who has a track record of getting people results. Be very careful when choosing a program: Things to research:1: Check their certifications, like, ie: Are they certified? and if so, where did they get their certifications? Just because someone has an online certification, does not mean they know what they are doing. Nowadays, anyone can go online and get a personal training certification, google is their best friend. You need to interview them, just like if you were seeking out a Plastic Surgeon. My trainer’s started out as clients of mine and have been mentored and trained by myself and my husband. 2: Check out their website, do they have picture testimonials, or just nice words from people, saying how cool they are? Accountability is the number one tool you will need to achieve your goals. Accountability from a professional, someone who will give it to you straight, and work your butt off in the meantime. So check out our “After Christmas Personal training” specials out and stop the insanity. Do something different! Come see us at the The Miami Valley’s Fitness solution………Faith Driven Fitness Personal Training, LLC 9030 Looney rd, Piqua ohio 45356

December 14th, 2011
I just finished my morning cardio workout
and decided to mix it up this morning
with a little hip hop! How fun was that!!
So I am ready to get at em this morning!
I hope you have started your day this way
also, so you can be all that you were made to be.
The holiday season is upon us and that means
eating and drinking….some of us more than
others. Alcohol is something that most adults
like to indulge in from time to time. First
let’s look at calories…
Alcohol has 7 calories per gram, where carbs
and protein carry 4, and fat at 9, which puts
alcohol right in the middle.
This amount will go up when drinking mixed drinks,
depending on what they are mixed with, this can
raise the drink to 300 calories a drink, multiplied
by 3 that can wop some calories in your night.
The minute you put alcohol in your body, all fat
burning is going to come to a halt. Your body
views alcohol as toxin, so the minute it enters
your body, it will do everything to rid itself of
this alcohol. No further fat will be burned until
this toxin has been completely removed. So if you
consume quite a bit of alcohol one night, you can
expect to see your rate of fat loss drop off for
a more significant period of time.
Another thing alcohol will put a halt to is protein
synthesis. This means no further lean muscle
tissue will be built up as long as that alcohol
is in the body.
So, if you want to be truly successful with
your fat loss and workout program, it’s best
if you can forgo alcohol for the time being.
One drink every now and then may not hurt
all that much, but if you’re taking in any
more than this, it will
definately hinder the progress you will see.
But we all have a decision, what is more important?
One more thing..
Faith Driven Fitness is going to be
launching a New Years Decision program
here is a clue—it’s all about the beach
body! Stay tuned!! So excited to roll this out!
Committed to you and your goals

I want to first wish you and your family a
happy Thanksgiving.
I am so thankful to have you part of my extended
family.
I hear all the time how people are going
to start a new workout/nutrition program
right after the holidays! Why wait?
Why not start now, lose 10 lbs before
Thanksgiving? and then strive for
another 10 lbs before christmas?
My first suggestion is Advocare’s 24
day challenge! This will cleanse your
body and prepare it and lose 10 lbs
in the process! Then staying on the
products will keep your body burning
fat for the rest of your life

Here are some other suggestions..
First of all, one meal can’t really derail anything,
and in
fact can help keep your metabolism humming. Here are
a couple recommendations.
1. Try to get a high intensity workout in within a few hours
of your meal. This way the first 500 or carb calories will go
to restoring liver and muscle glycogen levels before it even
thinks about turning it into fat.
2. Don’t skip meals leading up to the Thanksgiving meal.
This
will help you decrease the amount you are going to over eat.
3. Eat lots of veggies and lean turkey to fill you up.
4. Get a great workout in on Friday. You will have lots of
excess
sugar built up, so you will have a lot of energy and will get a
big pump in the workout.
5. Get back on track on Friday. One meal or one day can’t
derail things,
but one week is a different stories.
6. Remember the reason for Thankgiving, is to give thanks for
all the blessings we have in life. Be thankful for a body that
can move, a mind that can think, and family and friends that
love you despite our flaws.
Also, remember your body was a gift from God
and to treat it as so…
Blessings!

Good Morning! As I sit here
looking out my window, I see the cross
at the church across the street and
it always reminds me why I am here.
We are here to be the hands and feet
of Jesus. We are to serve those who
are the least and the lost, while
witnessing and giving our accounts.
Last thanksgiving, we did a food drive
as payment for our boot camp classes
and all food was donated to the Bethany
center here in Piqua. We found it
such a blessing to drive up to the
doors of the Bethany center, and
remember, that not too long ago,
I was there not giving,,but receiving.
Now, I am able to give abundantly and
help those who are where we were just a
few short years ago.
This year, my husband came up with a
better idea. We want to feed some
family’s at thanksgiving this year.
Not only physically, but spiritually.
So, here is our plan. Our goal is 10,
but if it is more, than that would
be awesome. We are getting some clothes
baskets together, and asking you to take
a basket and fill it up with thanksgiving
dinner, everything but the Turkey, which
you will just get a gift card to put in the
basket, so it doesn’t spoil. Here is where
we will fill them spiritually. We will be
praying over these baskets this whole week,
then we will be praying about which
family will need this blessing this year.
We have 5 baskets so far accounted for,
if you are interested in being a blessing
to a family this year, please contact
me today. I will be putting a grocery list
in each basket and we will be delivering
these baskets on Wednesday. If you happen
to have a family you would like to
nominate, that would be great also.
Thank you so much!
Be a blessing to someone today, and
do one thing that scares you!
Blessings

What a beautiful weekend we were
blessed with, I hope you all got to
enjoy the outdoors some, while we
still have good temperatures!
With cold/flu season upon us, I wanted
to address the issue of “to train or not
to train” while being sick.
Overtraining is the cause of most illnesses
especially if you are not supplementing and
recovering correctly. I am a huge advocate
of supplements, Advocare supplements,
mostly because they are all about recovery!
Some things you can do to prevent over-training
are as follows:
1. Be very conscious of the nutrients you are
putting in your body on a daily basis. Be sure
you are getting your greens(collard, kale) are
good, and also that you are taking your vitamens.
Your post recovery meal is of the upmost importance
because your cells are still open and ready to
absorb that meal. Post recovery workout shake
is hands down the BEST recovery meal you will
every put in your body. You can can actual feel
your muscles absorbing the nutrition.
Here is the issue:
Anyone who has ever participated in
an exercise and/or workout regimen
knows that one of the biggest
challenges to overcome is soreness.
We work out to push our body to new
levels of physical performance, but we
can also suffer from sore and aching
muscles as a result. The fact is our
muscles grow the most after we work out,
while they repair torn tissue that makes
for greater muscle mass. Therefore,
soreness is usually a part of any
proper workout program, but it doesn’t
have to be.
Many people allow themselves to be
overcome by the challenges of their
exercise program, including severe
soreness after a workout, and achieve
limited success in increasing muscle
mass. Lifting weights, for example, is
already challenging enough, but when
your muscles are still sore from a
previous workout, it seems nearly
impossible to follow through. Therefore,
muscle recovery is of key importance
in maintaining an effective exercise
program. During increased physical activity
, the body must be provided with the
essential fuels and supporting
nutrients to help build tissue, support
our muscles during a workout, and
assist in speeding and enhancing the
muscle recovery process. The faster
and more effectively you can recover,
the more potential you have for muscle
growth. By facilitating the recovery
process, the growth of lean muscle
mass is supported, and workouts become
more effective because the soreness has
been limited, leading to increased endurance.
THE SOLUTION: Post-Workout Recovery
Post-Workout Recovery Sports Drink
is a great source of more than 30 vitamins,
minerals and other nutrients s that
support your muscle’s metabolic processes
in recovery, and aids in lessening
occasional soreness after
workouts. Post-Workout Recovery is the
best solution for fighting the aches
and pains of working out. These easyto-make
shakes (available in chocolate and vanilla
flavors) combine the muscle-supporting
nutrition that has been
used by hundreds of professional and
world-class athletes across the United
States. Post-Workout Recovery
helps enhance physical performance
and endurance while also supplying
essential components for muscle repair
and gain during and after physical activity.
The unique blend of high-quality protein,
combined with glucose
polymers and other carbohydrates,
gives the body energy and structural support.
Post-Workout Recovery also
contains branched-chain amino acids to
support muscle recovery, growth and
endurance. Finally, the antioxidants
present in this advanced sports drink
help the body ward off free radicals
that are commonly produced as a result
of exercise. Don’t let soreness stop you.
2. What is your mindset? What are you feeding
your mind? Are you watching the news? Do you
have a bunch of negative family members or
friends that you hang out with a lot?
Start you day with daily affirmations and
a grateful list. List the things you are
grateful for and this will automatically
put you in a positive mindset.
3. Sleep is one of the most important
things you need to do in order to aid
in the recovery process. Not just sleep
but restful sleep. Nighttime recovery is
my all time favorite recovery product,
because it increases my REM sleep for a
more restful sleep and my muscles are
not sore, even after a killer leg workout.
here is the issue:
THE ISSUE:
Muscle recovery is critically
important for a weight-training
program to be successful. Minimizing
the soreness that
occurs as muscles repair themselves
after exercise is a major challenge for
anyone who participates in intense
workouts. Furthermore, well-managed
muscle recovery also supports increased
muscle production. During the
recovery process while we sleep, the body
releases its constructive hormones in
the largest quantities. Supplying
the body with proper nutrition to support
recovery at bedtime is therefore vitally
important in gaining maximum
support for the synthesis and release of
strength and healing hormones. Most of the
benefits to be gained from
weight training occur after the workout,
and therefore feeding the body with the
right nutrition at the right time is of
utmost importance for those who want to
optimize their efforts.
About one in four American adults engage
in no physical activity. One negative
health consequence of an inactive
lifestyle for senior adults is a gradual
loss of muscle mass as they age. This
decrease in muscle mass results in a
loss of strength and limitations in physical
movement. Researchers have demonstrated
that with proper diet and
exercise, those debilitating effects
can be avoided and in some cases even
reversed. By adding the correct
combinations of dietary supplements into
their daily diet and exercise programs,
individuals of all fitness levels
and ages can make the most out of the
time they invest in health and wellness.
The solution:
THE SOLUTION: Nighttime Recovery
To enhance the benefit of your body’s
natural processes, Nighttime Recovery
supplement incorporates a unique
combination of adaptogens and other
nutrients from around the world to allow
your body to more effectively
respond to the demands of physical
activity.* It naturally supports the
production of growth-related hormones,
and
it enhances energy production, helping
the body sustain higher workloads before
the onset of fatigue.* The
adaptogens in Nighttime Recovery support
the body’s ability to respond to stress
such as physical training.*
Now to address the “Do you train when you
are sick” question.
Depends, me,I will push through and train
if I have a cold. I rarely gets colds or the
flu, and the only time I have ever, is because
of overtraining, and under recovery. This was
before Advocare came into my life. I will
proclaim “I am healthy” and a perfect child
of God”. But sometimes, especially if you have
the flu, you need to rest. Don’t bury yourself
with toxins by putting pharmaceuticals in your
body. Your body just needs nutrition and rest!

Happy Sunday to all, looks like
it will be a beautiful day to enjoy
with you family and friends.
I wanted to share with you all some great
stories of transformation and achievement.
Not only physical transformation, but mental
and spiritual.
Yesterday was just an awesome day for me,
really
makes me love my calling more and more.
My day started off going to see my client
and
friend Rhonda compete in her first bikini
competition. In order to understand how
proud I am of her, and why I love
witnessing and mentoring people so
much, you have to understand where she
was just a short time ago.
When I first met Rhonda, it was 11 am
and my sister took me to her house to
get a haircut. Out walks this 5 ft
nothing girl, with camo pants tilting
back a bottle of boones farm wine, and
did I mention it was 11 am?
I have been unknowingly witnessing to
her since. My, and all of our purpose
here on earth, is to spread the good
word of Jesus. Until the whole world
hears. 8 weeks ago, Rhonda was 11 lbs
heavier, had 10 percent more bodyfat
had a spare tire in her mid-section.
Her journey started almost identical to
mine. The Lord placed someone in my life
Chastity Slone to give sacrificially
and mentor to me and get me on the right
track. I was that for Rhonda. Last week
I saw Jesus doing a work in her and
that is what I am most thankful for, is
not her physical transformation, but her
spiritual transformation.
Rhonda Before:

Rhonda after

Our lives are divinely orchestrated, but
sometimes, it takes us going through the
trouble to reap the real reward. I read this
morning in Exodus 13 that God doesn’t always
work in the way that seems best to us. Instead
of guiding the Israelites along the direct route
from Egypt to the promised land, he took them by a
longer route to avoid fighting with the Philistines.
He can see the end of the journey from the beginning,
and he knows the safest and best route.

So later in the day, I ran in a 5k race with some
of my clients. Kathy Knoop started in my Get Fit
Boot camp this past summer and has made leaps
and bounds in her physical transformation.
She started the summer barely limping around the
tennis courts we were training on, to running
her first 5k yesterday in record time, 39 minutes.
Kathy has lost over 40 lbs and a gazillion inches
and has such gratitude, although she is the one
doing all the work, but it does feel good to be
a part of someone’s life change.
Let’s not forget the awesome Jaimie Kiefer
owner of portrait creations how her life
was divinely orchestrated…..She had lost hope
in her weight loss journey, and God placed her
right next door,(literally) to us and she started
on her journey in March and is now down 60 lbs
and just completed her second 5k run!
Jaimie Before

Jaimie After:

I am so grateful to God to have given me this
purpose, and surrounded me with the coachable
and teachable people who are ready for the change.
I pray to the Lord to enlarge my territory
everyday. In Deuteronomy 33 is states, “Blessed
is he who enlarges Gad’s domain, Gad lives there
like a lion, tearing at arm or head. He chose the
best land for himself;the leaders portion
was kept for him. When the heads of the
people assembled, he carried out the Lord’s
righteous will.” I am placed in a position
that requires me to correct others, and
God tells me not to hold back from ful-
filling that task. I am so thankful for
his discernment of taking on those people
who are willing to be corrected and willing
to be coached.
I am very thankful that God brought Advocare
into our lives so that we could share with all
these people. Advocare has been a crucial part
of their success and continue to be a part of
their success as well my own. God is so
good!
Please share these amazing transformations
